Stephen Edward Sanders passed away on Wednesday evening, July 20, 2016 at the South Lyon Medical Center in Yerington. He was 73.

Steve was born in Ogden, Utah on August 11, 1942 the son of Eugene and Clara (Steckel) Sanders. He had attended Reno High School and the University of Nevada.

Steve had worked at the Naval Weapons Center in Ridgecrest from
1966 - 1996. He was a Department Head of the Technical Information Department and also had an assignment in Washington DC working with Senator Ted Stevens of Alaska

He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family and especially enjoyed being with his grandchildren. He was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge.

Steve is survived by his wife, Nancy of Yerington; his son, Stephen (Nadine) Sanders of Chandler, NV, a daughter, Brandie (Jeff) Bolduc of Brentwood, NH; step daughters, Bonnie Brown of Ridgecrest, CA, Kendra (Scott) Foster of Inyokern, CA; a stepson, Josiah (Lisa) Brown of Winnemucca; a brother, Gary (Joanna) Sanders of Mapleton, OR; a brother-in-law, Robert (Barbara) Florence of Sacramento, CA and a sister-in-law, Jeaneen Ritzman of Rocklin, CA; his 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie in 1984 and his daughter, Susan in 2005

Steve's Memorial Service will be held 10:00 am Saturday, July 30th at the Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home, 25 Hwy 208 Yerington. Inurnment of his cremains will be held at a later date.
