Floyd 'Steve' Stephen Farmer passed away on Monday, September 10, 2012 at the Carson Tahoe Hospital in Carson City, Nevada. He was 72.
Steve was born on February 16, 1940 in Arvin, California the son of Lou and Oleta (Winningham) Farmer. He was a veteran having served in the United States Navy.
Steve married Nancy Jo Winn in 1968 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They lived in Eagle Mountain, California where he worked as a Mechanic for Kaiser Steel. They moved to Yerington, Nevada in 1971 where he worked for Anaconda Mine as a Mechanic. After the mine closed they moved to Oregon where Steve worked for Safeway as a truck mechanic. They returned to Yerington after he retired. Steve loved to fish and spend time with his family camping and riding quads. He also enjoyed his (Road Trips) with his friends.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Jo Farmer; his daughters, Lisa and her husband Rocky Faris and Lori and her husband Brian Kutsch; his brother, Roy and his wife Judy Farmer; and his sister, Nancy and her husband Curtis Stephens; his three grandchildren, Tyler Shine, Bailey Kutsch and Zachary Faris; also by numerous nieces and nephews. He was a Family man that loved his family.
In keeping with his wishes no memorial service will be held. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home, 25 Hwy 208 Yerington, Nevada 89447 (775) 463-2911.
