Veronica Jean Fenili, 75, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2020 and finally found peace after a long battle with dementia.
Veronica is survived by her husband of 49 years Peter Fenili of Smith Valley, Nevada and her daughter Dana Fenili and son in law Thomas Doll of Yerington, Nevada She is predeceased by her mother Lois Wall and her father Eugene Larcher. Veronica was born July 31, 1944 in Reno, Nevada to Lois Wall and Eugene Larcher. Her best childhood memories came from the time she spent in Wadsworth, Nevada with her cousins playing basketball and causing trouble like cousins will do. She attended and graduated from Fernley High School where she participated in Girl's State, the school newspaper, and was even Homecoming Queen. She attended the University of Nevada, Reno and was an avid basketball fan who held season tickets for many years. Veronica married Peter Fenili on December 19, 1970. They ran a cattle ranch and hay farm in Smith Valley, Nevada where she loved running the swather and helping transport dairy calves and taking cattle to the sale in Fallon. Veronica had strong opinions and was a wonderful writer and known for writing letters to the editor of the local newspapers. On July 10, 1981, they had their only child Dana Fenili. Veronica enjoyed helping with 4-H pigs and record keeping and helping her daughter get through school including graduating from the University of Nevada, Reno. She was truly her family's biggest fan through the ups and downs of life. Veronica was raised in the true Nevada spirit which made her strong, determined, and full of life. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to help her family do what needed to be done. Due to Covid 19, a memorial will be announced by the family at a later time.
