Victor 'Dick' Cota passed away at his home in Wellington on Wednesday, April 24. He was 95.
Victor was born in Santa Barbara, California on March 3, 1924 the son of Julius and Presentacion (Robles). He had a strong spirit from the beginning having lost his Mother at birth, he was premature and came home in a shoe box. In 1942 he enlisted in the Army and served with the 1557th Army Air Force in Asiatic-Pacific Theater.
In 1956 he married Annette Walin and together they raised three girls in Santa Barbara. he was a faithful husband and Father.
He was an accomplished horseman and besides his fulltime work at Granite Construction he chose to work a side job managing a small horse ranch. He enjoyed roping, riding, training horses, hunting and Bar-B-Queing. During his last days he accepted the love of Jesus into his life.
He is survived by his wife, Annette; his daughter, Lisa Blankenship; his grandchildren, Malia Pinal, Eli Blankenship, Jacob Blankenship; his grat grandson, Samuel Cota. He will be truly missed.
