Wanda Rose Huss passed away Wednesday morning, December 9, 2009 at her home in Yerington, Nevada. She was 72 years old.

Wanda was born to Frank and Ruth Dowdy in 1937 and was raised in Ashland, KY along with her siblings, older sister Norma Jean and younger brother Greg. After high school, Wanda moved to Toledo, Ohio where she met and married the love of her life, Al Huss. In the late 1960's, she and Al moved to Southern California with their two daughters, Lynn and Cheryle. In the mid 1980's Wanda and Al moved to Northern California where they found employment as managers with Holiday Retirement Corp. After retirement, Wanda always looked back fondly at her many years with Holiday. She and Al then moved to Yerington, NV, along with friends that they had met through work. She enjoyed living in Yerington where she was surrounded by friends who meant as much to her as family. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and numerous civic organizations. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Elvin (Al) C. Huss.

Wanda is survived by her brother, Greg Dowdy of Flatwoods, KY, daughter Cheryle Case of Silver City, NM, daughter Lynn Lannquist of Fishers, IN, granddaughter Nicole Baldridge of Livermore, CA, and grandson, Austin Case of Silver City, NM.

Memorial services will include the receiving of friends at 1 pm followed by a celebration of Wanda's life on Saturday, December 12th at the Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home at 2 pm. with Pastor Milton Carr officiating. The family has asked in lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Faith Baptist Church as a testimony of Wanda's love for these people.
